Latest Carvings

These birds are my latest carvings and are marked as available for sale or as a commissioned piece.

These Painted Buntings are one of the most difficult birds to spot in the wild. They come to our feeder usually accompanied by indigo buntings, but only when they are certain it is safe. The male is the colorful one while the female is green. Price= $795.00

This life sized, fully detailed robin was a commission work. He is set among copper grass. The picture does not include the autumn leaves that were added to the base. A similiar piece would sell for $500.00.

This life sized crow measures 21 inches from tip of tail to tip of beak! He is fully detailed and represents a young adult who does not show the battle scars of an older bird. He was a commission piece for a family that raised several crows. His wings have a purplish irridescence when seen at certain angles. Price for a similiar piece: $700.00.

This immature bluebird is 4" long and is just about old enough to fly. This bird sells quickly and the bird shown here is probably sold. A current picture will be E-mailed upon request. Price: $125.00

This baby cardinal is gender neutural, but at this age more closely resembles the female. Its head is turned at a right angle and its overall length is 4 inches. Price: $150.00

This baby Robin is just starting to show its red breast. It is 5 inches long. Price: $150.00

This egret is what I refer to in my information page as a "slick". No feathers are detailed and it is an artistic interpretation of an egret with no specific species. It is approximately 3 feet tall and is another one that sells too quickly to keep the picture up to date. When ordering, please specify a burl(shown) or driftwood base and the direction you would like the head to turn. Price: $150.00

This is the white phase of a Reddish Egret. Its dimensions(30 inch height by 20 inch length) are accurate, but the bird is also carved as a "slick". Price: $150.00

This carving is a mixed species family of Ibises, that quite frequently occur where the habitats of the White Ibis and Scarlet Ibis overlap. In this carving the male is the scarlet Ibis and the Female is white. The juvenile is mottled black and white until it gets its adult feathers. White Ibis are common in Miami while the scarlet Ibis is much more rare. The white color gene is dominant, but both the adult male and juvenile have oil glands giving them an irridescent appearance. The female sits on a Manzanita burl, while the family and copper plant are on a slab of Indian Rosewood. Dimensions:45"w x 52"h x24"d Price: $2800.00
