"Blue Heron In Jeopardy- Four Perils" This
Great Blue Heron is
an original, fully detailed, life sized carving. This bird has been shown once at a national
art show and won second place. The title refers to the four major dangers
the Heron faces in
the Evergades(and throughout the world): pollution from us as depicted by the loose float;
pollution from fertilizer as depicted by the cattails;
flooding as depicted by the barnacles on the upright driftwood; and droughts as depicted by the
dried mud he stands in. Price: $2600.00

This house wren is one of the smallest birds I carve and also one of the most difficult to paint.
Notice the upraised tail and dropped wing position that is customary for this bird. This is a very good
example of motion in a sculpture. (Private collection; similair bird, positioning and base $400.00)
